The chairman of the Independent National Electoral
Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega is set to leave office on Tuesday 30
June, 2015. Following his completed tenure in the office, Jega is to leave the
office with Six other national commissioners appointed with him by the
ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in 2010. It will
be recorded that he did well during his tenure. Wishing him well.
A 23-year-old woman, identified as Joy Ojolede Okoh, has been reportedly abducted, raped and murdered in Benin City by unidentified persons on Monday. It was reliably gathered that her body was found in the boot of an SUV at Upper Mission Extension in Benin City, southern Nigeria. The SUV was said to have been snatched by the gunmen and used for the dastardly act before it was abandoned. It was gathered that the deceased who was said to be a bread seller at Lucky Way Junction by Ramat Park, was alleged to have closed for the day’s business at about 7:30pm when she was kidnapped. Edo Police Command spokesman, DSP Stephen Onwuchei, who confirmed the incident, said the police have commenced investigation into the matter.
