Man sells his 2 year old son for N300k

The Special Anti-Robbery Squad of Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man for allegedly selling his 2-year-old son for N300,000. Investigation revealed that Kanayo Awurum, a painter, from Imo State,eastern Nigeria, allegedly impregnated his girlfriend, Ugochukwu Kelechi, and absconded shortly after that. It was after Kelechi gave birth to the boy that he was sold when he was two years old without her knowledge. Two years later, Awurum allegedly came back and apologized to her. Thereafter, he relocated to Lagos to meet Kelechi at Ikotun.  It was gathered that he had no money after he relocated. As a result, he told Kelechi about his intention to use his son for a loan, with a promise that after three months, he would offset the loan and claim the boy back. His wife was said to have objected to that. But the suspect who relocated to Lagos with his wife left his son in the care of a relation in his village. Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge Christening Announced.

Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's daughter Princess Charlotte will be christened on the 5 th of July, Kensington Palace has announced. The service will be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. The christening will take place at St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk. The princess was born on the 2 nd of May at St Mary's Hospital in London, weighing 8lbs 3oz (3.7kg). The fourth in line to the throne, the princess's full name has been registered as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge.

Petrol Tanker driver causes over 69 deaths at Asaba Motor Park Onitsha

            The Nigerian Red Cross Society officials were the first to arrive the scene of this major incident.  Eleven vehicles, mostly commuter buses and two motorcycles inside Asaba Park, and the fuel tanker were completely burnt to ashes.   It was perceived that the Tanker driver's break failed to respond while descending the hill from Boromeo and Army Barracks end of the Onitsha-Enugu Expressway towards Upper Iweka. Instead of going for a wide gutter so as to break his speed, he veered into a park, where commercial vehicles were taking on passengers killing so many commuters. The Nigerian Army dismisses 200 (two hundred) soldiers.

After the dismissal of 200 soldiers by the Nigerian Army at the Rukuba Barracks in Jos, Plateau state,   allegedly for laxity and cowardice and their failure to capture the Sambisa Forest, a notorious hideout of the Boko Haram.  According to Vanguard,  one of the soldiers dismissed,  a native of Ondo State,  Aguloye Sunday, who confirmed the dismissal to journalists in Jos, said they were arraigned on a two-count charge of “failure to perform military duty and disobedience to standing order.” However,  he said they would seek redress as the charge were false and malicious.  The brave Soldier,  also accused the government of providing obsolete and inadequate ammunition and weapons for the assignment.  He revealed that,  they were given less five bullets,  not five rounds,  the bomb given them were made in 1964, therefore expired. NAFDAC at work: Chocolate Royale sealed off and 1 billion naira worth fake products seized in MD's House

Chocolate Royale,  a subsidiary of AIM group,  owned by the popular Lebanese business man,  Mr Moussalli,  was shut down by NAFDAC.  Allegedly,  Chocolate Royale used expired and dangerous product for the production of their food and confectioneries used by the public.  It was reported that,  Chocolate Royale was involved in illegal importation and illegal cold room in the managing director's resident. The MDS' residence,  situated at 1 Karimu Kotun,  V.I.,was sealed off after the NAFDAC agents discovered frozen unsafe products worth 1 billion naira, carting away Six vans of these expired products out of his residence.  Anslem Okonkwo,  NAFDAC's spokesman revealed that, Chocolate Royale was shut down also because of unethical practices and non compliance to good manufacturing and hygienic products and regulatory bodies.  Some top officials were arrested and will be questioned for willfully obstructing NAFDAC o...
