Hume
Cronyn was a Canadian actor. He enjoyed a long career and often appeared
alongside his second wife, Jessica Tandy.

Hume Cronyn was born in Ontario, Canada, on July 18, 1911 to an Ontario
politician. Hume made it to Broadway in 1934 in the production Three Men on a Horse. That was his first of
several collaborations with director George Abbott.
He then went on to make his film debut in
Alfred Hitchcock's Shadow of a Doubt (1943). In 1942, Cronyn married his
second wife, actress Jessica Tandy, who he co-starred with, in the film The
Green Years (1946), among many others. Jessica Tandy died in 1994. This borne another relationship with
author/playwright Susan Cooper, in 1996.

Cronyn
died on June 15, 2003 of Prostate Cancer, aged 91.
