Mufutau Akuruyejo emerged the only Nigerian and African amongst 1,500
students from the world over who applied for this ‘nine weeks open lab
programme’. The 500 level undergraduate in UNILAG is the first Nigerian to
receive the CERN ICT training where he will participate in this scheme courtesy
of MTN Foundation and Oracle.
MTNF and Oracle being passionate about boosting ICT skills in Nigerian
students with the purpose of accelerating development of cutting edge solution
to be used by the worldwide LHC (Large Hardon Colider) community.
So far, over 4,900 students from Universities, Polytechnic and Colleges
of Education have benefited from the MTN Foundation science and technology
scholarship scheme.
Mufutau’s journey began on Saturday as he left for Switzerland for his training,
hopefully he will be returning certified by Oracle
